Thanks to an expanded codeshare partnership between British Airways and Bangkok Airways, UK travelers will now enjoy seamless connectivity to popular destinations in Thailand and Cambodia.
On Wednesday (August 7, 2024), British Airways announced an expansion of their codeshare partnership with Bangkok Airways, which will provide seamless connectivity for UK travelers to destinations in Thailand and Cambodia. British Airways customers can now book a single ticket from London via Bangkok to five popular holiday getaways, including Koh Samui (USM), Phuket (HKT), and Chaing Mai (CNX) in Thailand, as well as to Phnom Penh (PNH) and Siem Reap (SAI) in Cambodia. Additionally, Executive Club Members will collect both Avios and Tier points when traveling on British Airways codeshare flights operated by Bangkok Airways.
Known as Asia’s Boutique Airline, Bangkok Airways operates and extensive domestic network in Thailand, as well as to destinations across Cambodia, Hong Kong, the Maldives, Laos, and Singapore. The carrier currently operates a fleet of 20 aircraft, each featuring different liveries highlighting exotic destinations.
In Wednesday’s announcement, British Airways’ Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, Neil Chernoff, said,
“In October, we will be operating our first direct flight to Thailand in more than four years, so it’s a highly anticipated return to our global network. Knowing that this route will be particularly popular with our leisure customers, we’re pleased to be working with Bangkok Airways to offer more choice and make these sought-after holiday destinations more accessible.”
Also commenting on the expanded codeshare partnership, Bangkok Airways PLC’s Vice President – Network and Product Development, added,
“We are pleased to expand this codeshare partnership with British Airways to strengthen our respective route networks and offer business and leisure travellers with unprecedented and convenient access to new gateways. Moreover, British Airways passengers traveling on Bangkok Airways flights will enjoy the boutique airline’s unparalleled services such as lounge access at available airports, in-flight meal and much more.”
Earlier this year, British Airways announced that their route between London Gatwick and Bangkok will resume on October 28, 2024, with three weekly flights, increasing to up to five weekly flights between January and March 2025. Inbound customers to Thailand will also have the option to incorporate a stayover in Bangkok, prior to continuing on their final destination on the same ticket. Codeshare tickets are now bookable on the British Airways website for travel from October 28, 2024.
