On Friday (October 29, 2021), British Airways announced the continuation of their rollout of their newest Club Suite Business Class seating across the airline’s Boeing 777 fleet. In partnership with Collins Aerospace, the carrier’s entire 777 fleet will be retrofitted by the end of 2022. The sophisticated Club Suite product was initially rolled out in July 2019 on British Airways’ first Airbus A350, and has since been installed on the carrier’s Boeing 787-10 aircraft. The Club Suite seat offers direct aisle access, a suite door for greater privacy, and a luxurious lie-flat bed, and is arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration. The seats also features 40 percent more storage space, a vanity unit with mirror, Wi-Fi, a generous 18.5 inch IFE screen, high definition gate-to-gate programming and USB Power.

In Friday’s announcement, British Airways’ Head of Inflight Product, Sajida Ismail, said,

“When we launched our Club Suite product, it was a huge hit with our customers who loved the privacy the new seat offers. We are focused on the roll out of this product and other cabin enhancements to ensure we deliver on our commitment to provide the very best British quality, style and comfort for our customers.”

Also commenting on the cabin upgrade collaboration, Collins Aerospace’s General Manager – Integration Engineering, Trevor Skelly, said,

“The upgraded Club World cabin raises British Airways’ already high standards and provides commonality across their fleet of aircraft. Our Integration Engineering team has worked closely with British Airways designers for several years to bring the latest in business class comfort, style and privacy from concept to reality.”

As part of British Airways’ commitment to the North Atlantic market, all flights to New York-JFK will be operated with aircraft featuring the Club Suite product. As part of the upgrade, the carrier’s Club Kitchen is also getting a makeover with new Club chillers and built-in storage for snacks, drinks and other refreshments, allowing Club World guests to help themselves to refreshments at their leisure. British Airways will also continue to roll out their latest generation First cabin, including the introduction of the First suite door, across the airline’s Boeing 777-300 fleet. The First suite also includes a fixed 23 inch high definition IFE screen that can be controlled with an integrated handset.
