Breeze Airways Reports Milestone March 2024 Operating Profit

Breeze Airways has reported a milestone operating profit for March 2024, the first full monthly profit for the growing startup airline.  During Q1 2024, the carrier’s unit revenues were up year-over-year by over 30 percent, more than the entire first quarter of 2023.

On Tuesday (April 9, 2024), Breeze Airways announced a major milestone, as the carrier reported their first full monthly operating profit for March 2024.  The industry’s only self-described ‘Nice-Low-Cost Carrier’ (NLCC) reported an over 30 percent year-over-year increase in revenues for March 2024, more scheduled service revenue than the entire first quarter of 2023.  As previously announced, Breeze will transition to an all Airbus A220-300 fleet by fall 2024, and also recently introduced a new co-branded credit card and loyalty program.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Breeze’s Founder and CEO, David Neeleman, said,

“This milestone is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and pure grit of the more than 1,800 Team Members who, despite a multitude of challenges and setbacks, persevered to build something truly impactful.  Starting an airline is not for the faint of heart but we have remained true to our purpose – to give millions of travelers in underserved markets access to efficient and affordable air travel.”

Also commenting on the carrier’s milestone March 2024 operating profit, Breeze’s President, Tom Doxey, added,

“It’s truly remarkable what Breeze has been able to achieve in such a short period of time.  In just the first quarter of 2024 alone, Breeze realized several major wins including doubling our revenue year-over-year and launching a co-branded credit card, while running a safe, on-time operation.  I’m immensely proud of this team and excited to see where we go from here.”

In the first quarter of 2024, Breeze flew their five millionth guest, and has  a flight completion factor of 99.8 percent, a controllable on-time performance of 74.5 percent, and one of the lowest mishandled bags rates in the industry, at only 0.27 bags per 100 bags loaded.  Breeze Airways operates with a unique business model which combines low fares, direct flights, and a elevated onboard experience, including first-class ‘Breeze Ascent’ seating and high-speed Wi-Fi.

In celebration of their milestone monthly operating profit, Breeze has launched a two-day-only promotion with 40 percent off all roundtrip base fares when the code ‘UNIQUE’ is used at checkout.  The promotion ends on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PT for travel from April 28th through June 13, 2024 (additional T&Cs apply).

Founded in 2019 by serial airline entrepreneur David Neeleman, Salt Lake City-based Breeze Airways launched flight operations in May 2021.  The airline’s mission is ‘Nice people, flying nice people to nice places.’  Breeze operates a fleet of Embraer E190/195 jets and Airbus A220-300s, serving 56 cities in 29 states with over 170 nonstop seasonal and year-round routes.  The carrier currently has an additional 70 A220-300s on order, and will transition to an all A220 fleet by fall 2024.  Focused on providing efficient and affordable flights between secondary airports, Breeze offers seamless booking, no change or cancellation fees, and up to 24-months of reusable flight credit.  Additionally, the airline offers customizable flight features, including complimentary family seating.
