Boris Hueske and Nikola Todic to Become Managing Directors of Lufthansa Cargo Subsidiary heyworld

Heyworld, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo, has appointed Boris Hueske and Nikola Todic as joint Managing Directors. The new team succeeds Timo Schamber, who has been Managing Director of the company since its founding in 2019.

On Thursday (January 12, 2023), Lufthansa Cargo announced that Boris Hueske and Nikola Todic have been appointed as joint Managing Directors of the company’s e-Commerce subsidiary, heyworld. Effective February 1st, 2023, they will succeed Timo Schamber, who has been Managing Director since the company was founded in 2019. Most recently, Boris Hueske served as Head of Digital Transformation at Lufthansa Cargo, where he was responsible for digital strategy and the development of digital business models. Nikola Todic most recently led the business development of Lufthansa Cargo’s A321F fleet, and was responsible for network planning, steering and strategic development.


In Thursday’s announcement, Lufthansa Cargo’s Chief Commercial Officer, Ashwin Bhat, said,


“I am very pleased to have Boris Hueske and Nikola Todic as two experienced and very agile managers for the young company heyworld. They both bring extensive experience and knowledge from the areas of digitalization and eCommerce in the airfreight segment. Against the background of the continuing high demand on the market for customized eCommerce and same-day offers, our goal is to align our increased freight capacities in the medium- and long-haul network even more closely with the services of heyworld and to make them even more attractive for our customers. In this regard, my thanks go to Timo Schamber, who has laid an important foundation for the establishment and expansion of heyworld in the course of our very good cooperation over the past years.”


Based in Frankfurt am Main, heyworld GmbH is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo which was founded in 2019. The company employs 45 team members and has created an eCommerce hub at Frankfurt Airport, and started operating their own parcel sorter in 2022. heyworld focuses on transport solutions in Lufthansa’s medium and long-haul network for online retailers, digital marketplaces and freight forwarders. The company’s portfolio includes end-to-end shipment tracking and parcel-based pricing, fast and reliable connections, and customs clearance. Heyworld simplifies and digitalizes eCommerce logistics by orchestrating all providers along the supply chain, thereby offering a high-quality one-stop-shop solution. The service is faster than mail and more economical than express services.


With revenue of €3.8 billion and 7.2 billion freight ton kilometers in 2021, Lufthansa Cargo is one of the world’s leading air freight companies, employing approximately 4,200 team members worldwide. The cargo carrier serves around 300 destinations in over 100 countries with a dedicated fleet of freighters, as well as belly-hold cargo capacity of passenger aircraft operated by Lufthansa German Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings Discover and SunExpress.
