Boeing to Prioritize Factory Safety and Quality at 2024 Farnborough International Airshow

For the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow, Boeing has adapted their presence to focus on strengthening safety and quality, while showcasing next generation technologies and capabilities.

On Monday (July 15, 2024), Boeing announced plans for their presence at the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow (FIA), which will take place from July 22nd through July 26, 2024.  This year, Boeing has tailored their presence with a focus on strengthening safety, quality, and meeting customer expectations, while also showcasing next generation technologies and capabilities.  Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ presence will include a full-size 777X interior section that highlights the aircraft’s wider cabin, larger windows and spacious architecture, and the company will also highlight their complete freighter portfolio.  To date, the 777X Family has won over 480 orders from leading customers worldwide.  Qatar Airways will also have a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on static display.

In Monday’s announcement, Boeing Global’s President, Dr. Brendon Nelson AO, said,

“We are concentrated on implementing our comprehensive safety and quality plan and meeting our customer commitments.  With these priorities in mind, we have reduced our commercial airplanes display and flight demonstrations at the show, and will focus on new technology, sustainability, security and services solutions.  The best way to build trust is through high-quality performance in our factories, one airplane at a time.”

Boeing will also showcase sustainability technologies, including the X-66 Sustainable Flight Demonstrator, Boeing ecoDemonstrator and the Cascade data-visualization tool to help inform decarbonization strategies.  Other Boeing products on display will include the F-15QA fighter jet with two differently configured aircraft performing aerial demonstrations.  The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) corral will feature  a U.S. Air Force F-15E, a U.S. Army AH-64E Apache, Ch-47F Chinook, and a U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon.

Additionally, Wisk Aero, a wholly-owned Boeing subsidiary, will exhibit their Generation 6 aircraft, the world’s first all-electric autonomous eVTOL (electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing) air taxi.  For more information about the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow, please click here.
