BOC Aviation Limited has today announced the placement of six Airbus A320neo aircraft with South American ULCC JetSMART Airlines. The aircraft will be powered by Pratt &Whitney PurePower® PW1100G-JM engines and are scheduled for delivery in 2024.
On Friday (July 22, 2022), BOC Aviation Limited announced the placement of six Airbus A320neos with South American ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) JetSMART Airlines. All six of the aircraft will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1100G-JM engines and are scheduled for delivery in 2024. Founded in 2016, JetSMART Airlines is an ultra-low-cost airline with operations in Chile, Argentina and Peru, offering international service to Colombia, Uruguay and Brazil. Since the company’s founding, JetSMART has carried over 10 million passengers. JetSMART’s guests benefit from an extensive point-to-point network which connects secondary cities on direct flights throughout the region at ultra-low fares.
In Friday’s announcment, JetSMART’s Chief Financial Officer, Matt Bernier, said,
“We are excited to work with BOC Aviation in the management of our fleet plans towards becoming the ultra-low-cost carrier in South America.”
Also commenting on the new lease placements, BOC Aviation’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Robert Martin, added, “We are delighted to welcome JetSMART as a new customer and we look forward to supporting the airline’s growth plans in the South American region. This transaction is testament to BOC Aviation’s ability to provide our customers with large-scale financing solutions as well as technologically advanced aircraft.”
