BOC Aviation Places Firm Order for 70 Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft

Airbus has today announced that aircraft lessor BOC Aviation has placed a firm order for an additional 70 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft. With this order, BOC’s Airbus order backlog becomes the largest in their history.

On Monday (March 31, 2025), Airbus announced that BOC Aviation Limited has placed a firm order for 70 additional Airbus A320neo Family aircraft. With the new order, BOC Aviation’s Airbus order backlog becomes the largest in the aircraft lessor’s history.
In Monday’s announcement, BOC Aviation’s Managing Director and CEO, Steven Townend, said,
“This transaction will lift our remaining Airbus orderbook to around 200 aircraft and takes our total Airbus aircraft deliveries to over 700 (including purchase and leasebacks) since our first order in 1996. This order solidifies our position as one of the top five global aircraft operating lessors and provides us with a strong delivery pipeline into the next decade. We look forward to providing more airline customers with this popular fuel-efficient and technologically advanced aircraft.”
Also commenting on the A321neo order, Airbus Commercial Aircraft’s EVP – Sales, Benoit de Saint-Exupéry, added,

Having won over 19,000 orders globally, the Airbus A320 Family is the world’s most popular single-aisle aircraft. The A321neo, the largest member of the Family, offers unparalleled range and performance. The Airbus A320neo Family offers at least a 20 percent savings in fuel use and CO2 emissions compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft. As with all Airbus aircraft, the A320 Family can currently operate on up to 50 percent SAF, and will be up to 100 percent SAF capable by 2030.
