BOC Aviation Limited Orders 80 Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft

BOC Aviation Limited, a global aircraft lessor, has placed a firm order for 80 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft including 10 A321XLRs, 50 A321neos and 20 A320neos. With the new order, BOC’s total direct orders with Airbus Includes 453 aircraft.

On Monday (April 11, 2022), Airbus announced that global aircraft lessor BOC Aviation Limited has placed a firm order for 80 Airbus A320 Family aircraft including 10 A321 XLRs, 50 A321neos and 20 A320neos. With today’s order, BOC’s total direct orders with Airbus increases to 453 and includes A320, A330 and A350 Family aircraft. The A320neo Family incorporates the latest generation engines and Sharklet wingtip devices to deliver at least 20 percent fuel and CO2, as well as a 50 percent reduction in noise footprint compared to previous generation aircraft. Additionally, the A321XLR offers an increased range of up to 4,700 nm, for a flight time of up to 11 hours. The aircraft are equipped with the award-winning Airspace interior, bringing the latest cabin and technology and design to the A320 Family of aircraft.
In Today’s announcment, BOC Aviation’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Robert Martin, said,
“We are proud to continue our long-standing relationship with Airbus, with whom we have partnered for more than 26 years. This is the largest single order that we have ever placed and it will bring our total Airbus aircraft purchased since inception to 546. It underscores our continued confidence in the A320neo family for its reliability and operational efficiency and reflects the popularity of the aircraft amongst our airline customers. We look forward to continuously providing our customers with such fuel-efficient and technologically advanced aircraft solutions.”
Also commenting on BOC’s new order, Airbus’ Chief Commercial Officer and Head of Airbus international, Christian Scherer, said,

As of February 2022, the Airbus A320neo Family had received over 7,900 orders from more than 120 customers. Since entering service six years ago, Airbus has delivered over 2,100 fuel-efficient A320neo Family aircraft, resulting in a CO2 reduction of approximately 10 million tons.
