BOC Aviation has today announced their first purchase of Sustainable Aviation Fuel Certificates (SAFc) from Singapore Airlines Group.

On Wednesday (March 18, 2026), BOC Aviation Limited announced that they have made their first purchase of Sustainable Aviation certificates (SAFc) from Singapore Airlines Group (SIA), becoming the first aircraft lessor to purchase the certificates from SIA. The SAFc are registered on the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials Book and Claim Registry, ensuring transparency, traceability and credibility in their use. This provides assurance that the emissions reductions associated with the SAFc are measured and accounted for in accordance with recognized global sustainability standards.
In Wednesday’s announcement, BOC Aviation’s Chief Operating Officer, Thomas Chandler, said,
“As part of our continued commitment to sustainability, we are pleased to support the scale-up of Sustainable Aviation Fuel in Singapore, and incorporating the SAFc as part of the programme to address our business travel emissions. SAFc is a widely recognised pathway for aviation emissions abatement. As Asia’s largest aircraft operating lessor, our purchase of SAFc represents a tangible contribution to a lower‑carbon future and aligns with Singapore’s national climate ambitions, including the Singapore Sustainable Air Hub Blueprint.”
Both Singapore Airlines Group and BOC Aviation are members of the Green Fuel Forward campaign, an initiative launched by the World Economic Forum and Singapore’s GenZero to boost SAF demand in the Asia-Pacific region through awareness and strategic partnerships.
