On Tuesday (September 20, 2022), Binter announced the launch of daily service between La Gomera and Gran Canaria from October 2022. Flights will depart Gran Canaria at 08:30 and 16:00, while the return flights will depart La Gomera at 09:50 and 17:20, respectively. To date, Binter offered two daily direct frequencies between Gran Canaria and La Gomera from July through September and two weekly connections the rest of the year. The new flights complement existing connections from Tenerife, making Binter the only airline connecting all of the islands in the Archipelago. For residents of the Canary Islands, flights are now available for booking through Binter’s distribution channels from only €17.35.

Founded in 1989, Binter began flying in the Canary Islands archipelago with service connecting the islands and a clear focus on public service. The company was acquired from the Iberia Group in 2002 by a group of Canarian investors, becoming a 100 percent Canary Islands company. In 2005, the airline began to operate flights outside of the Canary Islands with the goal of offering direct connections to other markets. In 2018, the airline began regular service to national destinations, first to Mallorca and Vigo, and later to Pamplona, Zaragoza, Murcia, Santander, Vitoria, Asturias and Jerez de la Frontera. Binter has since substantially expanded their domestic and international network.
