Bamboo Airways to Launch Weekly Nonstop Service Between Hanoi and London Gatwick

From October 29, 2022, Bamboo Airways will launch weekly service on Saturdays between Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam to London Gatwick. The route will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

On Thursday (July 7, 2022), Bamboo Airways announced the launch of new once weekly nonstop service on Saturdays between Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, Vietnam to London Gatwick. The route will be operated with a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with fares from only £307. Tickets are now bookable via Bamboo Airways’ online channels, ticket offices and travel agencies. Additionally, the carrier is now finalizing procedures to soon commence a second regular nonstop flight to London Gatwick from Ho Chi Minh City. The new Hanoi – Gatwick route follows the launch of routes to Frankfurt and London Heathrow earlier this year. By the end of 2022, Bamboo Airways plans on offering an expansive network with 40 international routes, including service to many European gateway airports.

In Thursday’s announcment, Bamboo Airways’ Deputy Chief Commercial Officer, Hoang Ngoc Thach, said,


“The nonstop Hanoi – Gatwick route is Bamboo Airways’ next effort in serving UK market in particular and Europe in general. We hope the sense of hospitality and international 5-star oriented services bearing Vietnam footprint of Bamboo Airways will win European passengers’ hearts as well as Vietnamese diaspora in the UK.”


Also commenting on the new service, Gatwick Airport’s Chief Commercial Officer, Jonathan Pollard, added,


“The arrival of Bamboo Airways at Gatwick provides a very welcome addition to our operation. In the past 10 months, we have been able to significantly grow our connections across North America, so to also be able to continue to expand our routes across Asia is fantastic news for both leisure travelers and business passengers throughout London and the South-East.


“Vietnam is a wonderful country, offering a wealth of beautiful sights including stunning beaches, national parks, temples and vibrant streets and night markets, so we are delighted Gatwick passengers can now connect to its capital city and beyond so easily, via Bamboo’s excellent network.”
