Azorra has announced the delivery of one Airbus A220-300 on lease to Cyprus Airways, a new customer for the aircraft lessor. The aircraft, formerly operated by EGYPTAIR, is one of 12 A220-300s acquired by Azorra in February 2024.
On Wednesday (September 4, 2024), Fort Lauderdale, Florida-based aircraft lessor Azorra announced the delivery of one Airbus A220-300 on lease to Cyprus Airways, a new customer. Previously, the aircraft was operated by EGYPTAIR, and is one of 12 A220-300s acquired by Azorra in February 2024. Cyprus Airways resumed operations in July 2016 under Charlie Airlines Ltd., following a successful bid for the brand’s rights. Operating out of Larnaca International Airport, the carrier has over 150 team members and operates a fleet of Airbus A320 and A220 Family aircraft, featuring Business Class and Economy Class cabins. The carrier offers service to Europe, the Middle East and Beyond, and is dedicated to environmental stewardship.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Azorra’s Founder and CEO, John Evans, said,

The delivery of this A220, featuring freshly overhauled and updated engines from Pratt & Whitney, will complement the airline’s existing Airbus fleet. The A220 offers exceptional fuel efficiency, cost savings, and passenger comfort. We thank Cyprus Airways for their trust in Azorra and look forward to a lasting, mutually successful partnership.”
Also commenting on the new partnership with Azorra, Cyprus Airways’ CEO, Thanos Paschalis, added,

The aircraft encompasses the latest technology in safety and operations and has one of the best environmental footprints of any aircraft flying. Cyprus Airways is committed to developing its fleet based on safety, efficiency, sustainability and customer comfort. This aircraft as well as another brand-new unit will be delivered from Azorra.”
