Azerbaijan Airlines and Air Serbia Sign New Codeshare Agreement

Azerbaijan Airlines has announced the signing a new codeshare agreement with Air Serbia. Effective May 2026, codeshare flights between Baku and Belgrade will be operated twice weekly.

On Monday (April 6, 2026), Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) announced the signing of a new codeshare agreement with Air Serbia, the national flag carrier of Serbia. Effective May 2026, flights between Baku and Belgrade will be operated twice a week, in conjunction with Air Serbia’s upcoming flight schedule. Under the codeshare, AZAL will place their marketing code on Air Serbia-operated services, providing customers with seamless connectivity between Baku and Belgrade and beyond via Air Serbia’s network. The inaugural flight under the codeshare agreement is scheduled for May 3, 2026.
In Monday’s announcement, Azerbaijan Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer, Jamil Manizade, said,
“As a result of this cooperation, passengers will benefit from coordinated services and the ability to purchase tickets via AZAL’s sales channels, enjoying a smooth travel experience between Baku and Belgrade. AZAL continues to actively develop its route network and strategic partnerships, reinforcing its position as a key connector between East and West.”
Also commenting on the new codeshare partnership, Air Serbia’s GM – Commercial and Strategy, Boško Rupić, said,
“This codeshare partnership will significantly improve connectivity between Serbia and Azerbaijan, offering passengers more travel options and easier connections. By aligning our networks and expertise, we are creating new opportunities for both leisure and business travel, while further strengthening ties between our two countries.”

Air Serbia was launched under their current name in October 2013, as the national airline of the Republic of Serbia. Air Serbia also offers service to Asia, Australia, North America and Africa via codeshare partners. The airline’s fleet consists of 19 aircraft, including one Airbus A330, 12 Airbus A320 Family and six ATR-72 Family turboprop aircraft.
