Avianca to Launch Direct Service Between Bogotá and Toronto From December 2021

Avianca is launching three weekly returns between Bogotá and Toronto starting in December 2021. The route will be operated with a 150 seat Airbus A320, offering around 4,000 weekly seats on the route.

On Tuesday (September 28, 2021), Avianca announced the launch of three weekly nonstop return flights between Bogotá and Toronto from December 2021. The route will be service with a 150 seat Airbus A320, offering approximately 4,000 seats weekly. Avianca currently offers service on 99 routes with over 2,680 weekly flights and nearly 400,000 seats available per week. The launch of the Bogotá-Toronto route joins the restart of 12 other routes over the next few months. Tickets are now available for purchase on Avianca’s app, website, and through travel agencies.


In Tuesday’s announcement, Avianca’s Director General for Mexico, North America, the Caribbean and Asia, Rolando Damas, said,


“Connecting Canada with Colombia is a strategic point for Avianca's proposal to have more direct flights and have the most robust network in the region. We are excited about this new route, and we know that with the product and service that we offer, the Canadian passenger will choose us for their flights to Colombia and other destinations in South America with which we offer important connectivity from the Bogota hub.”


Also commenting on the route launch, Colombia’s Consul General in Toronto, Jorge Alfredo Díaz Bravo, added,


“The opening of this route is great news for the Colombian community, for our country and for national tourism.”
