Avianca has announced that they will invest over $800 million this year to strengthen their fleet, improve the customer experience and consolidate their growth.

On Thursday (October 9, 2025), Avianca announced that during 2025, they will invest over $800 million in projects that will directly impact the guest experience. So far this year, the carrier has announced 13 new routes, and will take delivery of six new aircraft by the end of 2025. The investment includes the strengthening of ‘INSIGNIA by Avianca’ in Europe, and the expansion of Business Class to more than 80 routes in the Americas. Additionally, new VIP lounges will be opened and a priority check-in service will be implemented for Lifemiles members.
In Thursday’s announcement, Avianca’s CEO, Frederico Pedreira, said,
“This investment of more than USD 800 million demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the client and to Colombia. Our model works by offering competitive options and an expanding premium experience. For this reason, we are actively investing in more aircraft, in an unprecedented route network and, fundamentally, in the quality of the travel experience.”
The investment is also aimed at offering more benefits for Lifemiles members, as well as improving and opening of new VIP Lounges, and strengthening the guest experience beyond the flight. Avianca Cargo will also increase their freighter fleet, especially A330Fs, and increase flight frequencies to improve connectivity and capacity.
Avianca is part of the Abra Group, along with Gol and Wamos, operating a combined fleet of 300 aircraft. The business units, Avianca Cargo and LifeMiles (with more than 14 million members), continue to strengthen and contribute to the strategic growth of the company.
