Avelo Launches New Service From Daytona Beach to New Haven, From Melbourne to New Haven & Raleigh

Avelo has announced the launch of exclusive new service between Daytona Beach and New Haven, Connecticut. The carrier has further announced the start of new service from Melbourne, Florida to both New Haven and Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina.

On Wednesday (April 5, 2023) Avelo announced the launch of exclusive new service between Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) and Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) from June 22, 2023. The route will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays with introductory one-way fares from $49. New Haven is a refreshingly smooth and simple hometown airport experience, and is ideally located near major highways and commuter railways, making visits to the New England and New York regions easier than ever.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Avelo’s CEO, Andrew Levy, said,


“Daytona Beach – say hello to Avelo! We look forward to introducing the Daytona Beach region to Avelo’s low fares, industry-leading reliability and caring service. With hometown airport access to Southern Connecticut, travel from DAB is now easier than ever. This new route will also make it easy for Connecticut residents to discover all that Daytona Beach has to offer.”


Also commenting on the new route, Daytona Beach International Airport’s Director, Karen Feaster, added,


“We are thrilled to welcome Avelo, our airport’s first low-fare carrier, to Daytona Beach & Volusia County. This service opens our area to a market of travelers who now are only a direct flight away from our beautiful beaches, miles of nature trails and endless opportunities for fun and sun. Plus, our community now has direct flight options to one of our more popular travel regions.”

In a separate press release on Thursday (April 6, 2023), Avelo Airlines announced the launch of exclusive new nonstop service from Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) to both New Haven, Connecticut (HVN) and Raleigh/Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina. Service to New Haven will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays from June 21st, while flights to Raleigh/Durham will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays starting June 23, 2023.


Speaking on the launch of the new routes to New Haven and Raleigh-Durham, Melbourne Orlando International Airport’s Executive Director, Greg Donovan, A.A.E., said,
