On Thursday (May 22, 2025), Avelo Airlines announced the launch of new nonstop service between Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) in Islip, New York and Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA) near Charlotte, North Carolina.  In celebration of the route launch, one-way fares are now available from $49.  The route will now operate twice weekly with a Boeing 737NG.  Charlotte-Concord Airport is just a short drive from downtown Charlotte and its suburbs.  The small and welcoming hometown airport’s size makes it a stress free alternative to the bustling Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT).

In Thursday’s announcement, Avelo Airlines’ Founder and CEO, Andrew Levy, said,

“We’re excited to inaugurate our affordable, convenient and reliable service from Long Island to Charlotte.  Traveling to the Queen City has never been easier.  Additionally, we’re excited for North Carolinians to experience all that Long Island and New York have to offer.”

Also commenting on the new route launch, Long Island MacArthur’s Commissioner of Aviation, Rob Schneider, added,

“We’ve been in discussions for several years now with Avelo on air service development at Long Island MacArthur Airport.  Charlotte/Concord is the fourth largest destination that was not served nonstop from ISP, and Avelo Airlines recognized the opportunity to meet customer demand for the flights.”

Avelo Airlines was founded with the simple purpose to ‘Inspire Travel’, while saving customers time and money with nonstop flights and everyday low fares.  Since taking flight on April 28, 2021, the carrier has served over 7.0 million guests on more than 56,000 flights.  Avelo operates a fleet of 20 single-class Boeing 737NG airplanes.  The carrier currently serves 53 popular destinations across 21 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Avelo now operates from eight bases at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) in California, Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) in Southern Connecticut, Orlando International Airport (MCO), Wilmington Philadelphia Regional Airport (ILG) in Delaware, Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina, and Las Vegas (LAS), Lakeland International Airport (LAL) in Central Florida, and Charlotte’s Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA), and Wilmington International Airport (ILM) in North Carolina.
