On Wednesday (April 15, 2026), Avelo Airlines marked flying a milestone 150,000+ customers at Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) in Florida since launching service there in June 2023.  The carrier exclusively serves Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven (HVN) and Philadelphia’s Wilmington Airport (ILG) from Daytona Beach.  The carrier has also achieved industry-leading reliability at DAB.  Excluding weather-related cancellations outside Avelo’s control, the airline achieved a 97.9 percent completion rate, canceling less than 2.1 percent of flights at DAB.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Avelo Airlines’ Head of Network and Revenue, Trevor Yearly, said,

“The 150,000-Customer milestone we achieved exemplifies the great amount of travel Avelo is inspiring in Volusia County.  Daytona Beach’s unmatched convenience, combined with Avelo’s convenient secondary-airport destination pairings, makes travel easier, smoother and more affordable than ever.  We are grateful to every Avelo Customer who has chosen Avelo.  This milestone and the many more to come wouldn’t be possible without the professionalism and teamwork of Avelo’s exceptional Crewmembers and their commitment to our Customers.”

Avelo Airlines was founded with the simple purpose to ‘Inspire Travel’, while saving customers time and money with nonstop flights and everyday low fares.  Since taking flight on April 28, 2021, the carrier has served over 9.3 million guests on more than 73,000 flights.  Avelo operates a fleet of Boeing 737NG airplanes, and in 2028 will become the first U.S. airline to fly Embraer 195-E2s, with an order of up to 100 new aircraft.  The carrier currently serves 34 popular destinations across 14 U.S. states and Puerto Rico, including their four bases at Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN), the Philadelphia / Delaware Valley region’s Wilmington Airport (ILG), Central Florida’s Lakeland International Airport (LAL) and Charlotte’s Concord-Padgett Regional Airport (USA).
