Avelo Airlines is launching new, exclusive nonstop service between Central Florida’s Lakeland International Airport and Tweed-New Haven Airport in Southern Connecticut. Avelo will now become the first and only airline to serve Lakeland in over a decade.

On Wednesday (March 27, 2024), Avelo Airlines announced the launch on new, exclusive nonstop service between Lakeland International Airport (LAL) in Central Florida and Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN). Starting June 13, 2024, the route will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays with a Boeing 737NG. Lakeland Airport is conveniently located between Tampa and Orlando on Florida’s I-4 corridor, and serves as an ideal starting point for travelers who would like to visit iconic Tampa and/or Orlando attractions. With the new service, Avelo become the first and only airline to serve Lakeland in over a decade. Celebrating the launch of the new route, introductory one-way fares are now bookable from $72.

In Wednesday’s route announcement, Avelo Airlines’ Chairman and CEO, Andrew Levy, said,

Also commenting on the exclusive new service, Lakeland Airport’s Director, Kris Hallstrand, said,
