Avelo Airlines Adds More Frequencies from Lakeland, FL to Grand Rapids and Rochester

Avelo Airlines has today announced additional nonstop flights from Central Florida’s Lakeland International Airport to Grand Rapids, Michigan and Rochester, New York.

On Wednesday (October 22, 2025), Avelo Airlines announced the launch of additional nonstop flights between Central Florida’s Lakeland International Airport (LAL) and Grand Rapids, Michigan (GRR) and Rochester, New York (ROC). Launching just in time for the winter holiday season, one-way fares are now bookable from $57 (T&Cs apply). Starting December 6th, the third weekly flight to Grand Rapids will operate on Saturdays, complementing the existing Monday and Friday flights. Starting December 3rd, the third daily flight to Rochester will operate on Wednesdays, joining existing flights on Mondays and Fridays.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Avelo Airlines’ Head of Network and Revenue, Trevor Yealy, said,

Avelo’s extra flights continue to highlight demand for convenient, affordable and industry-leading reliability in Central Florida. With eight nonstop options, we continue to share Avelo’s low fares and nonstop options with our Customers.”
Avelo offers a range of seating options, including Standard, Stretch, and Stretch+. Stretch provides extra legroom, with pitch ranging from 32 inches to over 36 inches, while Stretch+ features a unique upgrade where the middle seat is blocked for added comfort and space. Customers can also purchase window and aisle seats in advance of their flight. In addition to advanced seat assignments, Avelo offers several unbundled travel-enhancing options that give guests the flexibility to pay only for what they value, with options such as priority boarding, checked bags, carry-on overhead bags, and a pet in the cabin.
Avelo Airlines was founded with the simple purpose to ‘Inspire Travel’, while saving customers time and money with nonstop flights and everyday low fares. Since taking flight on April 28, 2021, the carrier has served over 8.1 million guests on more than 65,000 flights. Avelo operates a fleet of 22 Boeing 737NG airplanes, and will become the first U.S. airline to fly Embraer 195-E2s, with an order of up to 100 new aircraft. The carrier currently serves 41 popular destinations across 15 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
