Starting October 2022, Austrian Airlines will offer two weekly flights between Vienna and Marrakesh, Morocco. Marrakesh is one of the most popular leisure destinations in Morocco, and with warm temperatures in October, it makes for the ideal autumn getaway.
On Wednesday (March 16, 2022), Austrian Airlines announced the launch of two weekly flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays between Vienna and Marrakesh, Morocco from October 2022. Marrakesh, the North African ‘Pearl of the South’, is one of the most popular leisure destinations in Morocco and offers pleasant temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit) in October, making it an ideal autumn weekend getaway.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Austrian Airlines Chief Commercial Officer, Michael Trestl, said,
“Marrakesh perfectly rounds down our portfolio of holiday destinations on short and medium - haul flights and offers our guests a well-earned timeout during winter months. We are continuously expanding our network and thus strengthen Austrian Airlines‘ function as a red-white-red flag- carrier at Vienna Airport.”
Austrian Airlines first offered Vienna-Marrakesh service in 2006. The route was temporarily paused in 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The Austrian flag carrier will offer exclusive direct connections between Vienna and the popular holiday hotspot. Tickets are now available for booking on the airline’s website.
