Austrian Airlines to Launch New Direct Service Between Vienna and Boston From July 2024

Starting July 2024, Austrian Airlines will start new nonstop service between Vienna and Boston.  The year-round route will operate up to six times weekly with a Boeing 767-300.  With the added service, Austrian will now serve 19 intercontinental destinations.

On Tuesday (January 30, 2024), Austrian Airlines announced the launch of first time nonstop service between Vienna and Boston from July 2024.  The route will operate year-round with up to six weekly flights, and will be serviced with a 211-seat Boeing 767-300.  Flights will initially operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, as well as every other Tuesday.  Flights will depart Vienna at 10:40 and arrive in Boston at 13:50, while the return flights depart Boston at 17:10 and arrive back in Vienna at 07:25+1.  The flight time on the 6,500 km route is approximately nine hours. 


In Tuesday’s route announcement, Austrian Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer, Michael Trestl, said,

 

“We are pleased to announce Boston as a new and extremely attractive destination. This means we are further expanding our long-haul offering and strengthening our hub in Vienna.  Important educational institutions, including Harvard and MIT, business connections and the city’s incomparable charm make Boston a fascinating and interesting travel destination. In addition, it will be even easier for visitors and tourists from the USA to come to Vienna in the future!


“The expansion of our long-haul network consolidates our position as the clear number 1 in Vienna and contributes to better connections to Austria as a business and tourism location.  We look forward to welcoming even more international guests on board in the future!”


With the addition of Boston, Austrian Airlines grows their intercontinental network to in destinations.  In total, Austrian will serve over 125 destinations in 2024.
