Austrian Airlines Adds Winter 2023/24 Service to Rovaniemi and Seville

Austrian Airlines is expanding their winter 2023/34 flying program with the addition of service to Rovaniemi in Finland, home of Santa Claus, as well as to the flamenco city of Seville in Spain.

On Thursday (May 34, 2023), Austrian Airlines announced an expansion of their winter 2023/24 timetable with the addition of service to Rovaniemi in the Finnish Lapland from December 2023, home of Santa Claus. The carrier will also offer service to Kittilä as part of their charter program. Additionally, Austrian will be flying to the Andalusian city of Seville from Vienna starting October 14, 2023. In total, the airline will offer service to 86 destinations next winter, including 70 continental and 16 intercontinental destinations.

In Thursday’s announcement, Austrian Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer, Michael Trestl, said,


“By expanding our market, we are successfully positioning ourselves as number one in Austria and at the Vienna hub. With the expansion of our winter flight schedule, we want to give our customers the opportunity to discover new places and have unforgettable travel experiences. We are proud to continuously expand our network and offer our passengers first-class connections all over the world.”

Austrian Airlines will also continue new destinations added for summer 2023 into the winter timetable, including service to Porto, Marseille and Vilnius. The carrier will also expand their long-haul schedule for winter with four weekly flights to Shanghai, and offer increased frequencies to New York, Marrakech and Cairo. Austrian’s intercontinental network will also include service to popular destinations such as Mauritius, Bangkok, the Maldives and Cancún, along with an increase in charter services to the Canary Islands, with more weekly flights to Fuerteventura, Tenerife and Las Palmas.
