Atlas Air Worldwide Announces New Headquarters in White Plains, New York

Atlas Air Worldwide will relocate their corporate headquarters to White Plains, New York, with a $4 million investment in 60,000 square feet of newly leased space. The company is committed to retaining 400 existing full-time permanent jobs in New York.

On Thursday (October 19, 2023), Atlas Air Worldwide announced that they will relocate their corporate headquarters to Whit Plains, New York. The company is investing $4 million in tenant improvements, including new equipment, IT and security in the newly leased 60,000 square foot space, and is committed to retaining 400 existing full-time permanent jobs in New York. Atlas will move from their current Purchase, N.Y. headquarters in January 2024. With their commitment to retaining 400 full-time jobs over a period of five years, Atlas has been awarded a $2 million capital grant from Empire State Development.


In Thursday’s announcement, Atlas Air Worldwide’s Chief Executive Officer, Michael Steen, said,


“Atlas is excited to continue our ties to New York, which is an important part of our global network as we support our customers around the world. Continuing our presence in New York guarantees our access to the top talent critical to our operations. New York has served Atlas and our employees well as we’ve grown into one of the largest cargo carriers in the world. We are thankful to Senator Schumer and Empire State Development for working with us through this process and for their commitment to our relationship.”


In addition to their headquarters team, Atlas also employs 265 JFK-based employees. The company also maintains a Global Operations Center near Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) in Erlanger Kentucky, a training center in Miami, Florida, and operations centers in Anchorage, Alaska and Hong Kong, as well as key logistics centers around the world.


Purchase, New York-based Atlas Air Worldwide is a leading global provider of third-party aircraft and aviation operating services. Company subsidiaries include Atlas Air and Titan Aviation Holdings. Additionally, the company owns a majority stake in Polar Air Cargo Worldwide. Together, the Atlas Air family of companies operate the world’s largest Boeing 747 Freighter fleet. The company also offers their customers a wide selection of Boeing 747, 777, 767 and 737 aircraft for domestic, regional and international cargo and passenger operations. On March 17, 2023, Atlas Air Worldwide was taken private by an investment group led by funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, along with investment affiliates of J.F. Lehman & Company and Hill City Capital.
