On Thursday (May 8, 2025), American Airlines unveiled an elevated experience at their soon to open Flagship® and Admirals Club® lounges in Terminal A-West this summer at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).  Opening this summer, both spaces will bring next-level food and beverage experiences to the airport.  From chef-driven menus and elevated takes on local specialties to full service bars, these lounges have been designed to reimagine pre-flight dining.

Guests entering the new Flagship® lounge will be welcomed with a glass of champagne, before enjoying a refined culinary experience that celebrates a combination of innovation and local character.  Chef Randy Rucker, James Beard Award Semifinalist®, who is known for his modern take on classic American cuisine, will bring refined flavors to the lounge.  The heart of the culinary program features cauliflower vichyssoise, a chilled, velvety soup, featuring smoked trout roe.  Another featured selection include salted caramel budino, whipped ricotta and blistered tomato toast and Maryland-style crab soup.  Grab-and-go snacks such as Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels, and Alter Eco Seat Salt Truffles are also available.

Additionally, action stations will offer customizable dining options, including a morning omelet bar with add-ons including local Amish cheddar and Kennet Square cremini mushrooms, and a build-your-own roast pork sandwich, featuring slow-roasted pork, provolone and broccoli rabe.  The lounge also features an evening Boardwalk Water Ice and Gelati bar in nostalgic flavors like Very Cherry, Rainbow Jimmies and Salted Caramel, all with boozy ‘pour over’ options.

The Philadelphia Flagship® lounge will feature a full-service bar offering premium wines, six local beers and bartender crafted cocktails and mocktails, a first for American’s lounge network.  Signature libations will include The Broad Street Old Fashioned and The Schuylkill Sunset, a nod to the sunset found at Philly’s Boathouse Row, as well as mocktails like the Berry Coconito, and Dream of ’76.  Both cocktail and mocktail menus will rotate seasonally, giving customers a reason to come back and try something new.  For those in the know, secret cocktails, the Betsy Ross Boulevardier and Seventy Philly, will also be available at the PHL flagship lounge upon request.

Guests will also be able to order from a QR code-enabled a-la-carte menu, featuring items such as The shore start breakfast sandwich with pork roll and tomato jam, Ebelskivers, a Danish pancake with maple cream and apple compote, or a tofu truffle ‘cheesesteak’ with cashew cheese and black garlic aioli.  Naturally, customers will also be able to enjoy a signature ribeye cheesesteak with tartufo provoleta, a Philadelphia classic, as well as pickled long hots.

Located next door to the Philadelphia Flagship lounge, the Admirals Club® will offer an equally inviting and flavorful experience, with breakfast and all-day menus.  Breakfast selections will include Tahini protein bites, breakfast sliders and cinnamon coffee cake, or lobster bisque, chimichurri lentils, Cuban rolls or Charcuterie boards.  Sweet dessert options include Tate’s cookies and brownie bites. A full service bar is also available, as well as a grab-and-go lineup featuring favorites such as Heaven & Earth Beet Chips and So Gouda Keto Trios.
