On Monday (September 8, 2025), American Airlines announced the launch of new exclusive nonstop service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Bimini (BIM) in the Bahamas. Starting February 14, 2025, the route will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays with An Embraer E175 featuring premium cabin options. Bimini is known for sandy beaches, unique attractions, colorful marine life and more. With stunning beachfront resorts, excursions to see dolphins, snorkeling and world-class big game fishing, Bimini offers a world of fun and sun adventures.
In Monday’s route announcement, American Airlines’ SVP – Network Planning, Brian Znotins, said,
“American knows that travelers are looking for unique and varied experiences, and that’s why we’ve added destinations like Bimini to our network. We recently announced new routes for travelers to explore unique architecture in Prague or Budapest or ski down exciting slopes in Sun Valley, and now we’re offering a new island option in the Bahamas.”
The launch of new service to Bimini marks American’s seventh Bahamian destination. For winter 2025/26 American will operate 30 peak daily departures to the Bahamas, the most of any U.S. airline. American is also the only U.S. airline flying to Governor’s Harbour (GHB) and Freeport (FPO). Additionally, the carrier has increased frequencies during the December holiday season to Marsh Harbour (MHH) and North Eleuthera (ELH).
American Airlines offers nonstop service from MIA to over 160 destinations in more than 45 countries and territories. This winter, the carrier will operate a record schedule from MIA with over 430 peak daily departures. Earlier this year, American announced plans to build a brand-new Flagship® lounge at MIA and to more than double their Admirals Club® lounge footprint.
