American Airlines Takes Delivery of First Boeing 787-8 This Year as Dreamliner Deliveries Resume

American Airlines has today taken delivery of their first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner this year, and the first since April 2021. The aircraft, registration N880BJ, was delivered from Boeing’s Charleston, South Carolina production facility.

On Wednesday (August 10, 2022), American Airlines announced that they have taken delivery of their first Boeing 787 Dreamliner Family airplane since April 2021, as Boeing resumes Dreamliner deliveries. The new 787-8, registration N880BJ was delivered from Boeing’s Charleston, South Carolina production facility, and will enter service in the coming weeks. Currently, American Airlines has 47 Boeing 787 Family aircraft in their active fleet, with an additional 42 on order. The carrier expresses gratitude to Boeing and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the work accomplished during the review process.
