American Airlines has today announced the opening of ticket sales for their new Premium Flagship Suite seats from next week. Debuting on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the inaugural flight offering the Flagship Suite will be on June 5, 2025.

On Friday (May 2, 2025), American Airlines announced the opening of ticket sales for their new premium Flagship Suite® seating experience from Monday, May 5, 2025. Flagship Suite seating will debut on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with service between Chicago (ORD) and Los Angeles (LAX) on June 5th as Flight 2012, and then from Chicago to London Heathrow (LHR) as Flight 98. Later this summer, American will also operate the new 787-9 from Philadelphia (PHL) to LHR and Zurich (ZRH), followed by flights between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Brisbane (BNE) this fall. American Airlines welcomes two new Boeing 787-9s to DFW on Tuesday, and intends to take delivery of 30 of the type by 2029. Flagship Suite seats will be available on all newly delivered 787-9s, as well as new Airbus A321XLRs and the carrier’s retrofitted Boeing 777-300ERs.
In Friday’s announcement, American Airlines’ Chief Customer Officer, Heather Garboden, said,
“Every aspect of our new 787-9 is designed to feel premium in nature. Whether flying for business or pleasure, having the opportunity to explore other parts of the world should be an exciting and memorable experience that begins the moment you book your flight, long before you reach your final destination.”

American’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners will primarily be deployed on international long-haul flights, and will feature 51 Flagship Suite seats at the front of the cabin. The suites feature privacy doors, more personal space with a wireless charging pad, as well as a unique chaise lounge seating option with an adjustable headrest pillow. Flagship Suite guests will also enjoy Priority check-in, security, boarding and baggage handling, as well as access to American’s Flagship lounge. Inflight, Flagship Suite service offers a multi-course meal curated to pair with award-winning wines, premium amenity kits, and a comfortable duvet blanket accompanied by a dual-sided pillow with cool touch fabric on one side and traditional fabric on the other.
