On Monday (October 16, 2023), American Airlines announced the introduction of AAdvantage Business™, a new simple and rewarding business loyalty program that helps companies earn AAdvantage® miles, while business travelers earn loyalty points. CitiBusiness®/Platinum Select Mastercard® cardholder membership also allows companies to accumulate even more rewards and travelers to earn even more Loyalty Points. The first of its kind program rewards both companies and their travelers for booking business travel on aa.com or on the American Airlines app.

In Monday’s announcement, American Airlines’ Senior Vice President of Partnerships, Scott Laurence, said,

“American has built something no one else offers. We want to reward both the companies doing business with us and the traveler who’s actually flying in the airplane seat. It’s a win-win. We’ve designed a simple program that goes above and beyond in delivering rewards and tools that benefit everyone.”

Also commenting on the launch of American’s new business loyalty program, Citi’s CEO of U.S. Branded Cards and Lending, Pam Habner, added,

“We are thrilled to continue to offer a card that is meeting the evolving needs of Citi and American Airlines shared business customers. The CitiBusiness/AAdvantage Platinum Select Card is making our customers’ day-to-day business operations all the more rewarding, whether they’re purchasing everyday essentials or booking upcoming business travel.”

The new AAdvantage Business loyalty program is available to businesses with at least five employees. For each $1.00 spent on eligible business travel, companies will earn one AAdvantage mile to redeem on travel and more, including hotels, car rentals, Admirals Club lounges and other experiences. Additionally, for that same $1.00 spent, eligible individual travelers will earn one Loyalty point that counts towards their accrual for earning AAdvantage status, with these Loyalty Points in addition to any miles or Loyalty Points the traveler is earning as an AAdvantage member. Companies interested in enrolling in AAdvantage Business can do so by clicking here.

For a limited time, businesses who apply and are approved for the CitiBusiness®/Platinum Select Mastercard® are eligible to earn 75,000 AAdvantage bonus miles after spending $6,000 within the first six months of account opening. Existing cardmembers will learn more about their integration into the AAdvantage Business program soon.
