On Thursday (August 6, 2020), American Airlines announced the return of Signature Menu items at Select Admirals Club lounges. Complimentary food items will be available starting August 12th, while food-for-sale items will be available from August 19, 2020. All Admirals Club food offerings will be served in compliance with the carrier’s strict commitment to guest and team member safety. Food-for-sale menu items will be available all day using smartphone QR codes and many menu items will reflect the region guests are visiting. For example, visitors to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) might enjoy a slice of deep dish pizza, while customers catching a flight from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) can enjoy a sliced brisket sandwich. The reintroduction of menu items announced today are in addition to prepackaged snacks and full-service bar that American’s guests have been enjoying since June 22, 2020. In Thursday’s announcement, American Airlines’ Vice President of Global Marketing and Digital, Janelle Anderson said,

“When Admirals Club lounges began reopening in June, we made robust enhancements to reinforce the well-being of guests and team members who work in the lounges as part of our multi-tiered Clean Commitment strategy. Our guests tell us they’ve been eager for their menu favorites to return, and we are excited to bring those items back, all while following CDC guidelines and maintaining our commitment to providing a safe and clean service with care.”

From August 12, 2020, complimentary Admirals Club favorites will include scrambled eggs or oatmeal in the morning and soup or macaroni and cheese in the afternoon. All food will be prepared by gloved and masked team members behind protective acrylic screens at a safe social distance, while hot menu items will be served in disposable containers to reduce touchpoints.

American Airlines’ guests visiting Admirals Club lounges can expect health and well-being improvements including Plexiglass shields at reception and service desks, foot operated door openers (where feasible), hand sanitizer stations, increased cleaning and disinfecting of tables and chairs and social-distance signage and floor decals. Additionally, the clubs will operate at 50 percent reduced capacity.
