American Airlines is gearing up for college football season by adding 10 nonstop routes from their hubs, offering fans the fastest way from their home to the stadium. The carrier will also add seats and increase frequencies throughout the season.
On Thursday (May 18, 2023), American Airlines announced the addition 10 new nonstop routes, more seats and added frequencies this fall to accommodate college football fans. Starting in September, the carrier will launch new daily service for fans going to State College, Pennsylvania (SCE) from Chicago O’Hare (ORD), and will increase frequencies on the route on select dates from September through November. American will also operate more nonstop flights to South Bend, Indiana (SBN) from New York LaGuardia (LGA) and Washington’s Reagan National Airport (DCA) on select dates in September, October and November.
In Thursday’s announcement, American Airlines’ Managing Director of Global Network Planning, Jason Reisinger, said,
“We know seeing the action live is an unforgettable experience, and that’s why American Airlines is proud to give customers the fastest way to the 50-yard line this fall. With more flights to get fans from touch down to touchdown, we’re ready to fly you to game day.”
