On Wednesday (December 20, 2023), Allegiant Travel Company announced the grand opening of their new Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor, a hotel-resort located on the Gulf Coast in Southwest Florida. Spanning 22 waterfront acres with 785 premier guest rooms, the new resort marks a major milestone in Allegiant’s evolution as an integrated travel company. Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor, which opened last week, joins Allegiant’s portfolio of ancillary products including car rentals, professional sports packages and more. The company has been selling hotel rooms on behalf of third parties for over 18 years, and the new resort represents the carrier’s first vertically integrated hospitality option.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Allegiant Travel Company’s Founder and CEO, Maurice J. Gallagher, said,

Over the past five years, we have sold on average about 300,000 ‘third-party’ hotel room nights per year to our customers. The opening of Sunseeker Resort is a key milestone in providing more customer offerings through our ‘first-party’ integrated resort.
“More than 85 percent of Allegiant's customers say that, after buying airfare, they purchase lodging, followed by activities such as dining, spa visits and golf outings.
