Alaska Airlines is expanding their presence in California with new service between Las Vegas and both San Diego and Santa/Rosa Sonoma County, between Los Angeles and Pasco, Washington and Reno. The carrier will also resume service between Portland and Atlanta.
On Tuesday (October 1st, 2024), Alaska airlines announced the inauguration of five new routes, including service between Las Vegas and both San Diego and Santa Rosa/Sonoma County, and between Los Angeles and both Pasco, Washington, and Reno. The carrier is also resuming coast-to-coast service between Portland and Atlanta. The Los Angeles-Reno route will operate twice daily, while flights between Pasco, Washington and LAX will operate once daily. Both routes will be serviced with an Embraer E175 jet.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Alaska Airlines’ VP – Revenue Management and Network Planning, Kirsten Amrine, said,
“Travel demand continues to be strong, and we are excited to provide our guests with more options for their next business trip or autumn getaway. With the addition of these new nonstop routes, we also continue to strengthen our presence throughout the state of California and connect Pacific Northwest communities with our broader network.”
With new service to Las Vegas, Alaska will no offer nonstop flights from San Diego to 39 destinations. Santa Rose offers an easy stop en route to Mexico for Bay Area guests, while Las Vegas residents will enjoy convenient service to California’s wine country. Wine enthusiasts can take advantage of Alaska’s ‘Wine Flies Free’ program, which allows Mileage Plan members to check an entire case of wine (up to 12 bottles) for free. The Las Vegas Santa Rosa route will operate once daily, and both routes will be serviced with an Embraer E175. As previously mentioned, Alaska will also restart cross-country service between Portland and Atlanta once daily with a Boeing 737-900.
