Alaska Airlines is launching new nonstop jet service to Kalispell, Montana from Los Angeles and San Diego, as well as flights to Bozeman from San Diego and San Francisco. Los Angeles/San Diego flights start May 20th, while San Francisco flights start June 17th.
On Thursday (March 4, 2021), Alaska Airlines announced the launch of new summer seasonal service between California and Montana. The carrier’s new ‘Sun and Fun’ destinations include service to Kalispell, Montana from Los Angeles and San Diego, as well as flights to Bozeman, Montana from San Diego and San Francisco. Los Angeles and San Diego flights begin on May 20th, while San Francisco flights will commence on June 17th and all routes will operate through September 7, 2021. The new service totals seven nonstop routes between the two states and flights will be operated with three-class Embraer E175 jets wit free texting on most flights and Wi-Fi connectivity available for purchase.
In Thursday’s announcement, Alaska Airlines’ Vice President of Network and Alliances, Brett Catlin, said,
“For those ready to makes moves this summer, we're excited to better connect California with Montana. We've long offered access to some of the best vacation destinations from Southern California and continue to see opportunities to grow our footprint in the region.”
The added summer seasonal routes build on the carrier’s existing year-round service on three nonstop routes that connect San Diego with Missoula Montana and Los Angeles with both Bozeman and Missoula. Tickets are now available for purchase on the new routes starting from only $69 to/from Bozeman and $89 to/from Kalispell.
Kalispell’s Glacier Park International Airport is in northwest Montana’s Flathead Valley, the Gateway to Glacier National Park, Whitehead Mountain Resort and Flathead Lake. Located about 90 miles north of Yellowstone National Park, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport defines “Big Sky Country.” Bozeman is a fisherman and hikers paradise where visitors can fly fish for trout in the Gallatin, Yellowstone and Missouri Rivers, or follow Highway 191 for views of the Gallatin Canyon’s snow-capped mountains.
In total, Alaska Airlines serves six destinations in Montana including Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, Helena, Kalispell and Missoula. The carrier also serves 15 cities in California including Burbank, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Ontario, Orange County, Palm Springs, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Sonoma.
