Alaska Airlines Debuts New Boeing 737-800NG Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Themed Livery
Alaska Airlines has unveiled a new Star Wars-themed aircraft livery to celebrate adventures to ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’ at Disneyland Resort. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800NG (registration N538AS), features the iconic Millennium Falcon on the tail and other fun details.

On Wednesday (May 4, 2022), Alaska Airlines revealed their seventh special Disneyland-themed livery named ‘Star Wars Transport to the Disneyland Resort’. The Boeing 737-800NG (registration N538AS) celebrates adventures to ‘Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’, a 14-acre land at the Disneyland Resort in California. The aircraft has been painted black with the iconic Millennium Falcon on the tail chased by TIE fighters. Following the reveal at the gate in Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Wednesday, the aircraft made its inaugural flight, ultimately arriving at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.
In collaboration with teams from Alaska, Disneyland and Lucasfilm, the images on each side of the aircraft were hand painted. In addition to the Millennium Falcon, the design features porgs, which greet customers at the boarding door, and also look back at guests from both winglets, as well as the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge and Disneyland Resort logos. The aircraft’s exterior required 228 gallons of paint which was applied during 540 work hours over 27 days. The palette included 23 base colors which were used with numerous custom colors mixed onsite for the detailed airbrushing of the Millennium Falcon and TIE fighters.
