Alaska Airlines Announces New Partnership With STARLUX

Alaska Airlines has partnered with Taipei-based premium carrier STARLUX, which launched new service today between Taipei and Los Angeles. Alaska’s Mileage Plan members can now earn miles on all STARLUX flights, with redemptions coming soon.

On Wednesday (April 26, 2023), Alaska Airlines announced the launch of a new partnership with STARLUX. The Taipei-based premium airline also launched inaugural service between Taipei and Los Angeles today. With the new partnership, Alaska’s Mileage Plan members can now earn miles on all STARLUX flights, and will soon be able to redeem miles as well. When redemptions become available this summer for STARLUX flights between Los Angeles and Taipei, they will start at 20,000 miles for Economy, 40,000 for Premium Economy, and 60,000 for Business Class (for a limited time). STARLUX operates the new Taipei-Los Angeles route with an Airbus A350-900 featuring First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins.


In Wednesday’s announcement, Alaska Airlines’ SVP – Fleet, Finance and Alliances, Nat Pieper, said,


STARLUX is a premier global airline offering world-class service and amenities. We’re proud to be their first airline partner. Our guests will love flying on STARLUX, connecting the West Coast, Taipei and many more incredible places in Asia. We’re thrilled to offer our loyal Mileage Plan members another exciting way to see the world.”


Also commenting on the new commercial partnership, STARLUX Airlines’ CEO, Glenn Chai, added,

In a new milestone, we launched our inaugural flight to Los Angeles today, offering convenient and comfortable long-haul premier services to passengers traveling to the city of angels.

Inbound customers to Taipei will also enjoy seamless one-stop connectivity to 16 destinations in the STARLUX network across Asia, including Bangkok, Hanoi, Penang, Manila, Singapore, Macau and Sapporo.
