Airbus Wins New Customer as Buraq Air Commits to 10 A320neo Family Jets

Airbus has today announced that Buraq Air, the first-ever private Libyan Airline, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the purchase of 10 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft.

On Wednesday (November 19, 2025) from day three of the Dubai Airshow 2025, Airbus announced that Buraq Air, the first-ever private Libyan airline, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the purchase of 10 A320neo Family aircraft, becoming a new Airbus customer. The agreement was signed Buraq Air’s General Assembly President, Fouzi Almiqalh, and Airbus’ EVP Sales – Commercial Aircraft, Benoit de Saint-Exupéry.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Buraq Air’s General Assembly President, Fouzi Almiqalh, said,
“This agreement represents a significant step forward for Buraq Air as we continue to modernise our fleet and serve more destinations. The A320neo’s efficiency and flexibility will not only be central to strengthening our core network but will also provide a seamless platform for Medsky Airways, our key strategic partner, to jointly enhance passenger offering across both our carriers.”
Also commenting on the new A320neo Family order, Airbus’ EVP Sales – Commercial Aircraft, Benoit de Saint-Exupéry, added,
“We are delighted to welcome Buraq Air as a new Airbus customer of the A320 Family and we thank them for their confidence. This agreement reinforces the A320neo as the aircraft of choice for fleet modernisation and we are dedicated to supporting Buraq’s Air strategic expansion plan.”
The Airbus A320 Family is the world’s most popular single aisle aircraft, having won over 19,000 orders. The Family includes the largest member, the A321neo, offering unmatched range and performance. The A320neo Family delivers a 20 percent reduction in fuel savings and CO2 emissions compared to previous generation single-aisle aircraft. As with all Airbus aircraft, the A320 Family can operate with up to 50 percent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus is targeting to have their aircraft up to 100 percent SAF capable by 2030. As of October 31, 2025, the A320neo Family had won over 11,300 orders from 150 customers worldwide.
