Airbus has today announced the delivery of the first new A321neo from their new Toulouse Final Assembly Line (FAL) to Pegasus Airlines. Located in the former A380 ‘Jean-Luc Lagardère’ building, the new FAL will support growing A320 Family demand.
On Wednesday (December 27, 2023), Airbus announced the delivery of their first aircraft, a Pegasus Airlines’ A321neo, from their new Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse. Situated in the former A380 ‘Jean-Luc Lagardère building, the additional FAL will help support the growing worldwide demand for the Airbus A321neo, which currently accounts for more than 65 percent of the A320 Family order backlog. Pegasus Airlines’ Airbus fleet now stands at 93 aircraft, including six A320ceos, 46 A320neos and 41 A321neos. The carrier also has an order backlog for 68 additional A321neos.
The largest member of the A320neo Family, the A321neo is equipped with new generation engines and Sharklets, which combine to help deliver an over 20 percent reduction in fuel burn and emissions versus previous generation single-aisle aircraft, as well as a 50 percent smaller noise footprint. To date, over 5,600 A321neos have been ordered by more than 100 customers across the globe. The A321neo delivery to Pegasus marks the ramp-up of the new Toulouse FAL, which together with the other FALs in Hamburg (Germany), Mobile, Alabama (USA), and Tianjin (China) will allow the company to reach the goal of producing 75 A320 Family jets monthly in 2026.
