From Winter 2023/24 Air Transat will offer year-round nonstop service between Montreal and Lyon in France. Next winter, the route will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
On Wednesday (March 8, 2023), Air Transat announced that they will offer nonstop service between Montreal and Lyon next winter, becoming the only airline operating the route year-round. For winter 2023/24, the route will operate three times weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, allowing Canadian travelers to discover or rediscover Lyon, known for its gastronomy and easy access to the French Alps, a world-class ski destination. For summer 2023, Air Transat will fly up to seven times per week between Montreal and Lyon. The carrier services eight French cities, with year-round service to Paris and now Lyon. The Montreal-Lyon route will be operated with an Airbus A321LR.
In Wednesday’s announcement, Air Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer, Michèle Barre, said,
“As the leading carrier between Quebec and France, it was natural for us to add Lyon and its region to our winter program. Route annualizations are part of our development strategy and, incidentally, our A321LR fleet is the best tool to meet this goal. We are delighted to meet the growing demand between Canada and France, which will benefit winter sports enthusiasts, business travellers and the expat community alike.”
