On Thursday (May 22, 2025), Air Transat announced the launch of new service between Toronto (YYZ) and Medellín (MDE) via Cartagena (CTG).  The new twice weekly service connects Canadians with one of Colombia’s most dynamic and mountainous cities, while improving access to the popular destination of Cartagena.  The new route also adds a frequency to Air Transat’s schedule between Toronto and Cartagena, allowing the carrier to optimize their fleet while serving cities not easily accessible with direct flights from Canada.  Details of Air Transat’s full winter 2025/26 flying program will be announced soon, including the start date for the new Toronto-Cartagena- Medellín route.

In Thursday’s announcement, Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer, Sebastian Ponce, said,

“Adding Medellín to our network reflects our desire to expand our network while meeting a real demand from our clients for both leisure travel and family reunions.  This expansion is in line with our strategy of targeted growth from Toronto, focusing on high-potential markets such as Colombia.”
