On Tuesday (November 23, 2021), Air Transat announced the launch of 'connectair by Air Transat', a virtual interlining service. Developed in cooperation with the technology company Dohop, customers can now seamlessly combine Air Transat flights with partner airlines such as British Airways, easyJet and Avianca via the connectair.airtransat.com website. With the new service, the airline adds over 135 new and exotic destinations, in addition to the 60 or so already available. Additionally, bookings made on the connectair by Air Transat website include a guarantee called ‘Dohop Connect’ which provides protection in case of flight delay or cancellation, including a replacement flight at no extra cost.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Transat’s Chief Executive Officer, Annick Guérard, said,

“With connectair by Air Transat, we are becoming the first Canadian airline to offer a virtual interlining service. This platform is enabling us to expand our range with trusted partners and offer consumers a simple and efficient purchasing experience. We are adding a total of more than 135 new exotic and faraway destinations to the 60 or so we already offer in the South, the United States, Europe and Canada. This new service, perfectly aligned with our network development ambitions, enables us to better meet the needs of our passengers and to expand internationally, in anticipation of the increased demand expected in 2022.”

Celebrating 35 years of service, Montreal-based Transat A.T. Inc. (TSX: TRZ), the parent company of Air Transat, has 5,000 employees and is the third largest airline in Canada, as well as the leading integrated tourism company.
