On Friday (June 20, 2025), Air Transat announced the launch of their exclusive inaugural service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER).  Flight TS418 departed Toronto on Thursday evening (June 19th), and touched down in Berlin on Friday morning (June 20th).  The exclusive summer seasonal route will now operate twice weekly through October.

In Friday’s announcement, Transat’s Chief Revenue Officer, Sebastian Ponce, said,

“As the sole airline offering non-stop service from Canada to the German capital, we are excited to provide travellers with a direct and enriching way to experience one of Europe’s most vibrant cities.  This route not only strengthens our European presence out of Toronto but also underscores our commitment to creating meaningful connections across the Atlantic.”

Also commenting on the exclusive new Berlin service, Toronto Pearson’s Chief Commercial Officer, Kurush Minocher, said,

“We are pleased to welcome Air Transat’s new non-stop service to Berlin — a city that has long been one of Toronto Pearson’s largest unserved European markets.  Last year, 15,000 people travelled between Toronto and Berlin, all requiring a stopover on their journey.  We are excited to offer new routes that enhance passenger choice and strengthen Toronto Pearson’s global connectivity.”

Berlin Brandenburg Airport’s CEO, Aletta von Massenbach, added,

“We are delighted to welcome Air Transat as a new airline partner at BER.  The new route directly connects the Berlin Brandenburg region with Toronto and offers attractive onward flight options.  At the same time, the capital region offers travelers from Canada a variety of experiences – from the vibrant metropolis of Berlin with its culture, history, and creativity to Brandenburg's lakes, castles, and nature.”

Thanks to Air Transat’s joint venture with Porter Airlines, customers will enjoy seamless connectivity to/from major Canadian cities, including Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Halifax.  The new Toronto-Berlin route will be operated with an Airbus A321LR, featuring ergonomic cabins and a modern entertainment system.
