Air Transat Adds Pegasus Airlines and Volotea to connectair by Air Transat

Air Transat has added Pegasus Airlines and Volotea to ‘connectair by Air Transat’, their virtual interlining platform.  Customers can now combine Air Transat flights with those of Pegasus and Volotea, bringing the total to 14 collaborating airlines.

On Tuesday (March 19, 2024), Air Transat announced the addition of Pegasus Airlines and Volotea to ‘connectair by Air Transat’, their virtual interlining platform, bringing the number of participating airlines to 14, offering access to over 275 additional destinations worldwide.  The addition of Pegasus opens access to multiple Turkish coastal hotspots, including Istanbul and Antalya, while the partnership with the Spanish airline Volotea, offers gateways to a range of destinations across Europe and Africa, such as Olbia (Italy), Oran (Algeria), and Strasbourg (France). 


Pegasus Airlines was incorporated in 1990, and later acquired by ESAS Holding in 2005, when they adopted the low-cost carrier (LCC) business model.  As Türkiye’s leading LCC, Pegasus offers good-value fares and operates a fleet of young aircraft, serving 136 destinations in 51 countries, including 36 in Türkiye and 100 internationally.  The carrier connects Türkiye with Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia via Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Antalya.

Founded in 2011 by Carlos Muñoz and Lázaro Ros, previously founders of Vueling, Volotea is one of the fastest growing independent airlines in Europe, and will celebrate their 60th million passenger this year.  The airline serves 100+ airports from 19 mid-sized European cities including Asturias, Athens, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Cagliari, Florence, Hamburg, Lille, Lyon, Lourdes, Marseille, Nantes, Naples, Olbia, Palermo, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Venice and Verona.  In 2024, Volotea will operate nearly 450 routes, over half of which are exclusive, with their fleet of 44 Airbus A319 and A320 aircraft.  The company employs nearly 2,000 team members.
