Air Serbia Inaugurates Direct Service Between Belgrade and Alghero in Sardinia

Air Serbia has launched new nonstop service between Belgrade and Alghero in Sardinia, with the inaugural flight, JU478, taking tot the skies on Monday, June 9, 2025. The route will now operate twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays.

On Monday (June 9, 2025), Air Serbia announced the start of new direct service between Belgrade and Alghero in Sardinia, with the inaugural departure of flight JU478. The route will now operate twice per week on Tuesdays and Fridays. Sardinia is the second largest Mediterranean Island, and features over 1,800 kilometers of coastline with beautiful beaches and the crystal clear sea. Travelers from throughout the world enjoy the white sand beaches like Costa Smeralda and La Pelosa, along with the cities, where tradition and history intertwine with the daily life of the local population.
In Monday’s announcement, Air Serbia’s General manager – Commercial & Strategy, Boško Rupić, said,
“By introducing a direct service between Belgrade and Alghero, we further boost Air Serbia’s presence in Italy. Our passengers can fly to ten cities in the country, and the choice is not easy. From Rome, Milan, Venice, and Bologna to Florence, Naples, Bari, Palermo, Catania in Sicily, and Alghero in Sardinia, whichever you pick, you will surely enjoy the rich history, diverse natural beauty and outstanding cuisine. Air Serbia was launched under their current name in October 2013, as the national airline of the Republic of Serbia. The carrier offers service from Belgrade, Niš and Kraljevo to over 70 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Africa with both passenger and cargo flights. Air Serbia also offers service to Asia, Australia, North America and Africa via codeshare partners. The airline’s fleet consists of 19 aircraft, including one Airbus A330, 12 Airbus A320 Family and six ATR-72 Family turboprop aircraft.
