On Tuesday (September 19, 2023), Air Serbia announced an expansion of their codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines to include enhanced connectivity to Canada. The Serbian national carrier has added their ‘JU’ marketing code to Turkish Airlines’ flights from Istanbul to Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. This marks the first time that Air Serbia’s marketing code will appear in the Canadian market, and flights are now available for booking. With the addition of the three Canadian cities, Air Serbia’s codeshare network now includes 21 destinations serviced by Turkish Airlines via Istanbul.

In Tuesday’s announcement, Air Serbia’s Manager – International Affairs and Alliances, Ivana Miklja Mučalov, said,

“We continue to develop our longstanding partnership with Turkish Airlines. Thanks to this new expansion of the codeshare agreement, passengers will have the opportunity to travel via Istanbul to three important and large Canadian cities. The service to Canada is of great importance for the large diaspora from the wider Balkan region countries, as well as for all others who want to visit Canada for business or tourism.”

Air Serbia was launched under their current name in October 2013, as the national airline of the Republic of Serbia. The carrier offers service from Belgrade, Niš and Kraljevo to over 70 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, North America and Africa with both passenger and cargo flights. Air Serbia also offers service to Asia, Australia, North America and Africa via codeshare partners. The airline’s fleet consists of 19 aircraft, including one Airbus A330, 12 Airbus A320 Family and six ATR-72 Family turboprop aircraft.
