Air India Finalizes Order for up to 290 Boeing Single Aisle and Widebody Airplanes

Air India has today finalized an order for up to 290 Boeing jets including 190 737 MAX Family, 20 787 Dreamliners and 10 777X airplanes. The carrier has also secured options for 50 more 737 MAX jets and 20 more 787 Dreamliners.

On Tuesday (June 20, 2023), from the Paris Air Show, Boeing announced that Air India has finalized an order for up to 290 single-aisle and widebody jets. The order includes 190 Boeing 737 MAX Family, 20 787 Dreamliners and 10 777X airplanes, with options for up to 50 more MAX jets and 20 more 787 Dreamliners. This is Boeing’s largest order in South Asia and highlights the airframer’s 90-year partnership with Air India. Additionally, Air India has secured a comprehensive set of aviation services that will able them to sustainably expand operations in South Asia’s rapidly growing aviation market.
Today’s order finalizes the February 2023 announcement that Air India has selected these Boeing models to serve their sustainable growth strategy.
