On Thursday (June 15, 2023), Air France announced the official reopening of their newly refurbished lounge located in Gate A of San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The new larger space features new areas and more services and is dedicated to La Première, Business Class and Flying Blue Elite Plus customers of Air France, KLM and SkyTeam partner airlines. The 565 square meter lounge can seat 117 guests and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The lounge offers a warm and elegant atmosphere, combining private alcoves and convivial spaces, along with bench-style seating, comfy chairs and high tables, offering places to work or relax in peace and private. The lounge entrance is equipped with eligibility kiosks, and the space offers free Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as numerous electrical and USB sockets close to the seats. A free digital press offer is also available on the Air France Play app.

Completely reimagined by the Air France teams in collaboration with the SGK Brandimage agency, the new lounge celebrates the French travel experience, and features noble materials such as wood and leather, complemented by Air France colors, with shades of blue, white and red. The furniture includes ‘Little Tulip’ chairs by French designer Pierre Paulin, ‘Ester’ bar stools by Patrick Jouin, and ‘Softshell’ chairs by the Bouroullec Brothers. The restaurant area showcases French cuisine in the style of a Paris brasserie, and features a large table d’hôte and comfortable seating around a self-service buffet.

The menu varies throughout the day, offering guests choices of hot and cold, savory and sweet dishes, from croque-monsieur to boeuf bourguignon. Vegetarian options will also be available at all times, and the menu will feature Air France flavors with local and seasonal produce. Air France is also dedicated to limiting food waste, with selective sorting of catering services, and available water fluntains to limit the use of single-use plastic water bottles. A large distinctive, blue-stained wood bar is also available, offering a selection of fine French wines and champagnes and local draft beers, as well as spirits and cocktails prepared by a bar attendant.

Finally, the lounge offers a bespoke dedicated area for La Première guests traveling between San Francisco and Paris. With plenty of natural light and a large glass façade, the unique and cozy space reflects Air France’s exceptional First Class cabin experience. The space also features its own restaurant and direct access to the bar. La Première guests will appreciate this private area and its sleek, tailor-made furnishings. Flying Blue Ultimate customers also have their own dedicated space, which is located at the entrance of the lounge. Additionally, Showers are available throughout the day for guests wishing to freshen up. For summer 2023, Air France is operating up to 12 weekly flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and San Francisco.
