Air France has partnered with Starlink to provide complimentary ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi onboard all aircraft from 2025 onwards. The new service will be accessible to all customers by logging into their Flying Blue account.
On Thursday (September 26, 2024), Air France announced that starting in 2025 they will offer free ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi across all cabins on all aircraft. The carrier is partnering with Starlink, the world leader in connectivity, which operates the world’s largest constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit. Starlink delivers high-speed, low-latency access across the entire globe, including the most remote areas. While onboard, Air France guests will be able to stay in touch with friends and family, watch live news, play video games online, and stream TV and films, and series.
The new Starlink service will be accessible from personal electronic devices, after customers login to their Flying Blue account, Air France-KLM Group’s loyalty program. Customers who don’t already have an account can create one free of charge in just a few clicks while onboard. From summer 2025, Air France will gradually equip all aircraft with the cutting edge technology, including the regional fleet. During the transition, Air France will continue to offer a connectivity service onboard on aircraft that are not yet equipped, including a free ‘Message Pass’ for Flying Blue members, and a paid offer that covers other needs.
Starlink, a SpaceX company, delivers high-speed, low-latency internet to users worldwide. As the world’s first and largest satellite constellation using low Earth orbit, Starlink delivers broadband internet capable of supporting streaming, gaming, video calls, and more. SpaceX is the world’s leading provider of launch services, and is leveraging their deep experience with both aircraft and on-orbit operations to deploy the Earth’s most advanced broadband internet system.
