Air France Partners With Chef Frédéric Simonin for new Signature Premium Economy Menus

For the first time, Air France is offering a new ‘Signature’ menu in Premium Economy on long-haul flights departing Paris designed by a Michelin-starred French Chef.  Premium Economy guests will enjoy two dishes, including a vegetarian option.

On Friday (December 15, 2023), Air France announced that for the first time Premium Economy guests departing Paris on long-haul flights will be able to enjoy an à-la-carte menu designed by a Michelin-starred French Chef.  Air France has partnered with Chef Frédéric Simonin, holder of one Michelin star and Meilleur Ouvrier de France, to deliver a premium onboard dining experience.  Premium Economy customers will have a choice of two dishes, including a vegetarian option.  Choices include Salmon risotto with orzo pasta, wild dill and lemon sauce, or Trofie pasta bake with porcini mushrooms and hazelnuts.


In Friday’s announcement, Chef Frédéric Simonin, said,


“For Air France customers, I have carefully chosen products that I can transform with delicacy and precision, offering each passenger a unique culinary experience.”


Chef Simonin collaborated with Servair, the world leader in inflight catering, to prepare the menus which feature fresh, local and seasonal produce, along with fish from sustainable fisheries.  Accompanying each meal, Air France also offers a wide range of beverages, with or without alcohol, including a wine and champagne list curated by Paolo Basso, the ‘World’s Best Sommelier 2013.’

Premium Economy is available on Air France’s entire long-haul fleet.  Gradually, the carrier’s Airbus A350s and Boeing 777-300s are being upgraded with the latest Premium Economy seat, a recliner.  On A350s with the new Premium Economy cabin, guests enjoy 94 cm of legroom and a 48 cm wide seat, along with a wide backrest that reclines up to 121 degrees, and a headrest that can be adjusted to four positions.  Each seat also features a 13.3 inch 4K Ultra High Definition anti-glare IFE screen, which is equipped with Bluetooth.  Premium Economy also features ample storage, an individual reading light, noise-reducing headphones and USB A and C ports.
