Air France-KLM and SAS have today announced an expansion of their commercial cooperation to strengthen the connectivity between Scandinavia and the United States.

On Tuesday (September 23, 2025), Air France-KLM announced a significant expansion of their existing commercial cooperation with SAS, with the goal of improving connectivity and the travel experience between Scandinavia and the U.S. As part of this commercial cooperation expansion, the Air France marketing code will be added to SAS-operated, nonstop transatlantic flights. This new codeshare agreement will provide customers with smooth and broad access to a wide range of destinations in the U.S. via the Scandinavian main hubs.
In Tuesday’s announcement, Air France-KLM’s General Manager – North Europe and CIS, Tom Verbugt, said,
“Here in Scandinavia, we are pleased to strengthen our partnership with SAS. Our partnership already provides travelers with around 500 extra weekly SAS flights, easily connecting with Air France and KLM, to destinations all over the world – a great success so far. Now we are further increasing the offering with approximately 60 direct flights per week with SAS to the US. We are significantly improving our joint offering from Scandinavia. This expansion creates endless opportunities to combine times and routes on one ticket, while still being able to earn Flying Blue Miles and XP (Experience Points) throughout your journey. I’m sure our customers will be as excited as we are.”
The new codeshared routes include service from Copenhagen (CPH) to Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York-Newark (EWR), New York JFK (JFK), San Francisco (SFO), Seattle (SEA) and Washington (IAD). From Stockholm Arlanda (ARN), codeshared routes include service to New York-Newark (EWR) and Miami (MIA). Codeshared flights from Oslo (OSL) include service to New York-Newark (EWR), New York (JFK).
Earlier this year, the SAS code was added on several long-haul routes operated by Air France and KLM from their hubs in Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol, as well as the mutual codeshare agreements on European routes launched last year. This builds on the successful commercial cooperation between Air France-KLM and SAS, which began in 2024 when SAS became a member of the SkyTeam alliance, of which Air France-KLM is a founding member. Additionally, customers flying on these codeshare routes can earn Miles as well as XP (Experience Points) towards their Flying Blue status. Flying Blue Miles can also be redeemed on these SAS flights, subject to availability.
